Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Tallapoosa River Electric’s Cooperative board and management have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and want to assure you that we are taking measures to protect the health and safety of our employees and members.  As we go through these unprecedented times, we continue to work for you, our members.


As of Monday, March 23rd, 2020, the Cooperative will temporarily cease charging the current COLLECTION fee on past due accounts.  Bills and late notices will continue as normal and the late fee will apply to late paying accounts. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE DATE ON THE DELINQUENT NOTICE THAT YOU RECEIVE BY MAIL.  COLLECTION and the associated fees will be assessed on a weekly basis.  We will continue to transact business in our billing offices but will work to limit exposure by keeping all billing personnel behind protective glass both in our lobbies and drive thru. We strongly encourage all members to use our digital platforms to manage your TREC account, such as the mobile app and website.  We also have various drop box locations that are listed on your electric bill.


Please call the office 1-800-332-8732 to discuss your unique situation should you find yourself not able to pay your bill.  Please understand that the sole source of income for Tallapoosa River Electric Cooperative is you the members.  With that in mind, we must remind you that bills will still need to be paid.  We appreciate your loyalty and support for Tallapoosa River Electric Cooperative.  Our goal is to keep both you and our employees safe and to keep your electricity on.  We join you in prayer for our community, our state, and our country.
