As those of you living in Clay, Randolph, and Tallapoosa Counties know, Winter Storm Benji dropped between 6 and 12 inches of snow on us. For the rest of you, you missed quite a winter wonderland. It wasn’t all fun, as winter storms seem to always cause more work than they yield in fun and games.
I want to thank everyone for their patience with us during our restoration efforts over the weekend. We found ourselves responding to the first outages late Friday morning and finished working Sunday night. Your employees worked tirelessly to restore electric service to the approximately 6,500 Cooperative members without power for most of the weekend. I, as well as you, owe a huge debt of gratitude to the employees who tirelessly and selflessly left their families to restore electric service to the cooperative’s membership. You have an incredibly dedicated, hard-working group of employees at Tallapoosa River Electric Cooperative. Weekends like this past weekend help us to appreciate the benefits of reliable electricity. Feel confident that when nature’s fury unleashes on us, we are here, ready to come restore your electric service.
